Forward DNS vs Reverse DNS: What is the Difference?
While standard (Forward) DNS resolves human domain names to machine IP addresses (e.g. example.com → 93.184.216.34), Reverse DNS does the exact opposite—querying an IP address to find its authoritative host domain name via dedicated PTR (Pointer) records stored in the special .in-addr.arpa zone.
